    Summary/objective

    Are you passionate about sports, bowling, and entertainment to bring people together for a lifetime of striking moments? Do you like to travel and work hands-on with innovative bowling products developed by the industry leader?

    As a QubicaAMF R&D Technician, they would work with Product development and continuation engineering engineers to install, test, and monitor products for the bowling industry. This will involve setup, installation, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance tasks on bowling equipment. This position is based in Richmond HQ but will primarily focus on traveling to off-site Beta test installations in bowling centers across the United States and occasionally overseas bowling centers.

    Essential Functions

    • Hands-on implementation of testing and performance evaluation efforts for new and existing bowling products.
    • Help build and maintain continuous running test beds with automatic start/stop controls and monitoring.
    • Monitor & observe new equipment performance at customer bowling centers during product launches and early adoption.
    • Interface with the Product development engineers to schedule, set up, and execute routine tests to track and improve the product performance.
    • Collaborate with the Test Engineer/Supervisor to perform preliminary research and identify historical testing data in the lab and in the field.
    • Travel to customer sites and assist with installation, service, or troubleshooting support of different products. 50% Travel.
    • Assists in the development of training tools for new products.
    • Monitor video footage and remote equipment through the cloud monitoring app to assist the engineers with troubleshooting and diagnostic support.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    The position will not have direct reports.

    Competencies/Qualifications

    • Thorough understanding of safety and safe working practices, safe use of equipment, and Lock-out-Tag-out procedures.
    • Ability to move in and out of bowling equipment to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks daily.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. overhead.
    • Must be able to wear and work in steel-toed or equivalent safety shoes and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in an industrial environment.
    • Good understanding of how hand and power tools (wrenches, ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers) are used to assemble, disassemble, and adjust machinery
    • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and a keen ability to quickly learn new technology.
    • Good communication skills, passion, and willingness to learn about and work on bowling equipment.
    • Good attention to detail while maintaining a clean work area and organizing tools and equipment efficiently.

    Physical Demands

    The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

    Travel required

    • Up to 50% travel required.

    Required education and experience

    • A High School diploma is required. AS Degree in a technology-related field is a plus.
    • Basic electrical knowledge using multimeters and troubleshooting AC motors, switches, and low voltage sensors and devices is a plus.
