    Job Description:

    We are recruiting an aspiring Accounts Payable Clerk to join our expanding Accounts Payable team. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will report to the Assistant Controller and will be working closely with a passionate and supportive team. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow and develop their career with a business that will support and guide them in their career development.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and process inventory invoices based on 3-way matching.
    • Review and process expense invoices and ensure accurate coding and entry into the accounting system.
    • Respond to vendor inquiries via telephone and email regarding payment status or invoice discrepancies.
    • Process weekly check runs, credit card, and ACH payments.
    • Monitor outstanding account payable aging balances and communicate with vendors to resolve disputes on timely matters.
    • Reconcile vendor and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
    • Ensure that all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures.
    • Provide general administrative support to the Manager and Accounting team as assigned.

    Experience:

    • 2-5 years as an accounts payable clerk or similar position.

    Requirements:

    • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Proficient hands-on experience in QuickBooks, X3, MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables.
    • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
    • Proficient in Microsoft office suite
    • Proficient in ERP accounting system is a plus

    Qualifications:

    • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
    • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently and proactively.
    • Function effectively in a high-paced and occasionally stressful environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Willingness to learn and propose new procedures.
    • Resourceful and willing to go the extra mile when required.
    • Self-starter and self-driven.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $23 - $27/hour, non-exempt

    Reports to: Assistant Controller

    Travel requirement: No travel
