- Design electrical systems and components for EV charging stations, including power distribution, grounding, and protection systems.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, UL, IEC).
- Lead and manage EV charging infrastructure projects from conception to completion.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of EV charging stations.
- Conduct site assessments and inspections to ensure proper installation and functionality.
- Ensure all designs and installations comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
- Work closely with other engineers, designers, and project managers to develop integrated solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and clients.
- Assist in the development of training materials and programs for internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on EV charging infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, UL, IEC).
- Experience with power distribution, load calculations, and electrical system design.
- Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Experience with renewable energy integration and energy storage systems.
- Knowledge of smart grid technologies and demand response programs.
- Familiarity with software and hardware for EV charging stations.
- Experience with utility interconnection processes and requirements.
- The base salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $160,000, based on full-time employment.
