About the Position:

DOYLE is seeking a Registrar for our Paintings department. The role requires an organized, flexible, detail-oriented candidate who has excellent and refined communication skills (both written and verbal). A positive and enthusiastic "can do" attitude and friendly professional demeanor are essential to work in this extremely busy environment. The candidate must be highly energetic, and team oriented with a strong ability to multi-task, problem solve, follow-up and work independently with attention to detail. Full-time, in-house position. Responsibilities include:

Property management, including receiving and releasing consigned property
Overseeing installation and de-installation of all Paintings Department property
Liaising with Photography Department to complete catalog photography
Maintaining our database in regards to property management
Tracking sales and auditing inventory
Facilitating client requests and submissions through phone and email
Transcribing and entering appraisal notes into the database
Proficiency with Photography and Adobe Lightroom a plus
Proficiency in foreign languages a plus

Requirements:

BA and/or MA in Art History or a related field
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
Previous work experience in an auction house or similar setting
Exceptional client services skills with a professional telephone manner
Excellent verbal, written and social skills
Familiarity with Fine Art terms, periods and styles
Diplomacy and ability to work calmly under pressure
Superior organizational and time management skills
