    Property Controller

    We are looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Team. The Senior Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, reconcile the balance sheet, prepare financial reports by functional area, and work with the Accounts Payable team to help manage vendor payments.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain general ledger, including reviewing account activity to ensure accuracy and completeness
    • Maintain and reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly
    • Review weekly payroll registers prior to submission by Payroll Manager
    • Prepare bank account reconciliations daily
    • Perform timely preparation and review of monthly financial statements for a portfolio of operating entities
    • Recommend, develop, and implement accounting standard operating procedures as necessary
    • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions
    • Assist with external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and analyses
    • Responsible for timely filing state and local occupancy and sales/use tax returns monthly
    • Support ad hoc projects or analysis as needed

    Skills

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 1 – 3 years of accounting/finance experience in the hospitality, real estate, or service industry preferred
    • Strong knowledge of financial statements and GAAP concepts
    • Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks, work both independently and in a team environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and detail oriented with ability to think critically
    • Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Yardi experience preferred
