The Sheetmetal Aircraft Mechanic 2 will be responsible for performing and inspecting aviation unit (AVUM), intermediate (AVIM), and depot maintenance on assigned aircraft in Culver City, CA.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble structural parts and components to meet requirements.
  • Perform structural repair, modification, and corrosion protection treatment to maintain structural integrity.
  • Use jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds to assemble repairs.
  • Utilize metalworking equipment and tools to form, cut, bend, and fasten replacement or repair parts.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments, repairs, or replacements.
  • Incorporate authorized modifications and changes.
  • Maintain and inspect tools and equipment.
  • Assess damage to aircraft structural components.
  • Check repairs for serviceability according to specifications and technical publications.
  • Treat corrosion using mechanical and chemical procedures.
  • Make recommendations for improving equipment performance and maintenance procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
  • FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 required. If not currently held, must be willing to obtain FCC License prior to starting.
  • Must have a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P), with at least 2 years of aviation maintenance experience, and 2 years on the assigned MDS (Army Rotary Wing
