- Leading and expediting engineering projects.
- Performing Failure Analysis on defective wafers, dispositioning wafers on hold, and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
- Responsible for achieving yield, cost, and cycle time goals.
- Evaluating/qualifying new equipment, materials, and processes, and documenting and providing training to manufacturing team.
- Implementing and optimizing Advanced Process Control (APC), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and other process control schemes.
- MS or PhD degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related engineering field with a graduation date between June 2023-June 2024.
- Knowledge in micro/nano fabrication and cleaning processes such as wet chemical etch, photoresist strip, liftoff, and electroplating.
- Hands-on experience in wafer processing and high-volume manufacturing is desirable.
- Analytical, logical, data-driven, and ability in analyzing big data in decision-making process using tools such as database query and JMP.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Able to work and interact with various interdepartmental engineering and other support organizations.
- Ability to manage projects with set milestones and timelines, and ability to execute under minimal supervision.
- A responsible team player that is detail-oriented and has a willingness to learn and thrive in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.

- The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

Job Description
Western Digital is seeking a New College Graduate to join its HDD Operations team in Fremont, CA, specifically joining the wafer manufacturing engineering team to work on wet etch, photoresist strip, liftoff, and electroplating processes in our 24/7 wafer fab.
This candidate will be the focal point for continuous process improvements working with the manufacturing team, equipment team, vendors, and the development team, and will be working at both the Fremont and San Jose Fabs.
