Description

Responsibilities:

Counsel students on academic affairs
Work with gradelevel teams on tracking data
Help coordinate interventions
Meet with individual students as (Tier III intervention)
Implement Behaviors Interventions and Support in coordination with the Case Manager and Student Assistance Team
Assist advisory teachers in how to handle socioemotional issues that may arise in the advisory
Coordinate Service Learning with content department leads to meet CPS graduation requirements
Carryout student attendance interventions
Work with The Dean of Climate and Culture and Student Assistance Team to carry out interventions.
Process student transcripts requests
Evaluate transfer eligibility for transfer students
Keep systematic data on progress monitoring
Communicate regularly with administration and general education teachers
Maintain regular contact with parents and families
Maintain all related documentation
Secure all confidential documents
Communicate regularly with administration and general education teachers
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university
Licensed Professional Counselor preferred
Curriculum development experience preferred
An understanding of the value of arts education
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proven organizational skills
Proven ability to work with a diverse population
High regard for student potential and an ability to provide opportunities for students to develop and succeed
Willingness to be bold and creative in pursuit of what is best for students
Reflective teaching practice
Ability to work collaboratively with teams and nurture collegial relationships
Able to adapt and improve in changing situations

Salary and Benefits:

Bargaining covered full-time exempt position
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications per academic salary schedule
