- Illinois State Teacher Certification is preferred but may not be required.

This year-long class meets on Monday/Wednesday/Friday during conservatory hours between 2-5 pm.
General Summary:
Classical Wind Tech and Repertoire Technique will allow students concentrated time to develop the vocabulary of their instrument, including both chamber and solo repertoire.
The material will include scales and arpeggios in all keys, from memory, over the full compass of the instrument, as well as regular etude assignments.
Students will also strengthen their rhythmic reading skills through a structured year-long curriculum, as well as regular practice in sight reading.
As relevant, technique classes will address healthy playing posture, breathing, tone and vibrato.This class will also support students as they work towards several solo performance goals throughout the course of the year.
In addition to continued technical and reading work, Semester 2 will include units on audition preparation and the ILMEA audition etudes for IHSA solos.
