SUMMARY

The
Assistant Banquet Manager ("Subdirector de Banquetes") manages and supervises events to which he/she is assigned while leading and directing its personnel.

Act as host to the organizers and their guests for all conferences and/or catering functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Coordinates some of the administrative activities of the department including schedules, performance evaluations, record keeping, orientation, supervision, staffing, and attending meetings.
  • Participates in establishing and conducting training programs to ensure consistent worldclass service and the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Controls the bar setups and beverage requirements at banquet events.
  • Coordinates the closure, taking of inventory, dismantling, and cleaning of banquet bars and service areas.
  • Instructs and leads the banquet associates in the daily operation of the department.
  • Proactively provides our guests with professional, efficient, and personal service that exceeds their expectations.
  • Inspects the banquet/meeting room facilities and ensures all departmental areas are maintained at the highest level of cleanliness in accordance with the Health Department and hotel standards.
  • Prepares presents and diligently files banquet checks, charged expenses, and related reports.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Twoyear associates degree, trade school degree, professional certification or any equivalent.
  • At least 24 years of relevant experience and/or training. Experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problemsolving, running daytoday operations, hospitality & customer service skills.
  • A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
  • Experience running shifts, scheduling, performance management, problemsolving, guest servicing and running daytoday operations.
  • Food Handlers Certification.
  • Current industry certifications required: Food Handlers Certification & RBS Certification
  • Previous similar position in a restaurant or hotel is preferred.
  • Ability to exemplify and always lead with a friendly, professional, teamoriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section and San Diego Municipal Code et. seq.
