    Job Description

    Who We Are:

Esperanza Health Center is a multicultural ministry providing holistic healthcare to the Latino and underserved communities of Philadelphia. We seek to fulfill our mission by providing affordable, high-quality, bilingual and multicultural primary health care services in Jesus' name, regardless of ability to pay, to all those in our community who seek care.

    Job Summary:

Behavioral Health Associates work alongside our medical staff and licensed behavioral health professionals to provide integrated behavioral health services to patients in the context of a medical visit. They also provide individual and group counseling services, in collaboration with lay health workers, as part of research study being conducted by Drexel University. Be part of a multidisciplinary team that's finding innovative ways to reduce barriers and bring quality behavioral healthcare to North Philadelphia

    What You Will Be Doing:

    • Provide culturally sensitive, strengths based, trauma-informed care to a diverse population
    • Meet with patients individually in the context of their medical visit to provide targeted interventions addressing behavioral health issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, developmental concerns, and substance use
    • Collaborate with patients and medical providers to provide effective treatment planning and targeted interventions to help patients set and meet goals for improved physical and psychosocial functioning
    • Create, plan, and facilitate groups in a variety of innovative formats to promote emotional wholeness and address specific patient needs
    • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as part of a research study on improving patient access to behavioral health care through the use of community health workers
    • Provide crisis intervention, crisis management, and safety planning as appropriate
    • Document patient progress and services provided in the Electronic Medical Record.
    • Assist with referrals to higher levels of behavioral health care and provide information about other community resources as appropriate

    What We Offer:

    • Chance to work in a collegial work environment with like-minded experienced professionals
    • Ongoing clinical supervision to complete licensure requirements provided during paid working hours at no cost to you
    • Three one-day retreats per year together with the whole staff
    • Vacation, sick, and holiday paid time off, plus one month of paid sabbatical leave after seven years of service
    • Medical and dental insurance, retirement plan, and long-term disability insurance
    • Continuing Education opportunities
    • Tuition reimbursement program after one year of employment
    • You may qualify for federal or state loan forgiveness programs

You May Be a Good Fit If You:

    • Have a Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field. Applicants who plan to pursue, or are currently pursuing, licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT are strongly preferred. Applicants who are already fully licensed as an LCSW, Psy. D, LPC, or LMFT are eligible to apply for our Behavioral Health Consultant position.
    • Are bilingual in English and Spanish (we may consider applicants who are willing to participate in immersive language training)
    • Are able to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Get excited thinking about innovative ways to deliver high quality behavioral healthcare to underserved communities
    • Want to work in a Christian healthcare ministry with like-minded team members who are compelled by the love of Christ to offer care to all in need.
