- Licensed by the South Carolina State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Current licensure/certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with authorization for prescriptive authority.
- Performs and records the patient history and physical examination in accordance with hospital policy and in compliance with standards and regulations. Establishes differential diagnosis and communicates findings with the physician.
- Orders appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures and provides follow up care when needed.
- Synthesizes data to determine primary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing established medical principles.
- Demonstrates the ability to recognize and critically assess any changes in patient's condition and reports such to the physician.
- Facilitates coordination and development of a comprehensive and individual plan of care in collaboration with patient, family, and multidisciplinary team.
- Facilitates one on one communication with primary care physician regarding current and ongoing patient care needs.
- Acts as a hospitalist service liaison with patient care staff.
- Acts as a liaison and facilitator between hospitalist, staff members, case managers, and attending physician regarding patient.
