    Description

    The primary responsibility of this position is to provide lecture and laboratory instruction in the Exercise, Nutrition and Health Science degree program and associated programs in the Department of Biological, Physical and Health Sciences.

    Class assignments may include both day and evening courses.

    Additional responsibilities include student advising and support, curriculum development and program assessment, and participation in department and college-level meetings, working groups, and governance.


    Job Duties:
    Teaching -* Providing exceptional classroom instruction in exercise, nutrition and health sciences courses and related courses as appropriate.

    • Incorporating evidence-based teaching methods that enhance learning outcomes for a diverse population of students.
    • Participating in the development, implementation, and monitoring of practices that promote safe and inclusive learning environments.
    • Collaborating on the review and improvement of course materials, teaching methodologies, and assessment methods.
    • Engaging in scholarly and/or professional development activities that inform teaching and pedagogy.
    • Maintaining proper class-related records and promptly assessing student coursework.
    • Developing curriculum and program assessment plans.
    • Other duties related to program needs.
    Percentage of Time: 80%

    Service -* Advising and mentoring students as appropriate on course work and career preparation.

    • Serving as a resource for students as they navigate the exercise, nutrition and health sciences major.
    • Serving on and contribute to key committees at the department, college and university levels.
    • Other duties related to program needs.
    Percentage of Time: 15%

    Other duties as assigned -Percentage of Time: 5%
