    Mainframe Storage Engineer – L3 - Remote

    • 2 year contract
    • On-Call and weekend availability may be required
    • Remote but can be Hybrid for those living near Plano, TX if preferred.

    Relevant Experience

    Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

    1. Lead Storage (Tape and DASD) Admin with experience in refresh projects, including plan, design and implementation with minimum disruption to the business, back out procedure, and execution coordination.
    2. Expertise with DASD - HDS (G5500, G1000), IBM storage environments in a z/OS operating system
    3. Good knowledge of IBM Tape environment (VTS, TS7700)
    4. Strong Hands-on experience in DFSMS, ICF Catalogs, ICKDSF, Backup and Restore Utilities
    5. Disaster Recovery planning, configuration, and testing at regular intervals.
    6. Perform daily storage management, product upgrades and configuration.
    7. Individual Contributor who can work on transformational tasks, critical issues & continuous improvement of Storage Environment Technical Skills
    8. Review, approve and coordinate Storage related changes.
    9. Prepare and submit storage related I/O gen request to the Hardware team, review I/O gen report for accuracy.
    10. Knowledge of 3rd party storage management products and reporting tools
    11. Responsible for service delivery. The storage administrator will also execute all backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and related capabilities. Volume space and capacity management
    12. Evaluates capacity utilization and initiates projects to address areas of excess and shortages proactively and reports to management.
    13. Maintain documentation of the storage environment.

    Experience Required
