- Attending client meetings and lead discussion of communications initiatives with a consultative approach creating engagement strategies based on client's needs
- Developing and updating various benefit communication materials including benefit guides, educational inserts, and other materials as directed
- Managing various projects from start to finish while coordinating deadlines and prioritizing tasks for multiple projects with short turnaround times
- Preparing content, while being responsible for edit rounds and proofreading finalized materials
- Providing product education and assisting with special communications projects as needed
- Assisting in reviewing other materials and supporting colleagues as necessary
- Continuously discovering and implementing new functions and industry best practices to maximize efficiency
- Keeping abreast of communication and benefit trends
- Hiring, onboarding and training
- Performance management annual cycle along with regular check-ins and development planning
- Talent assessment and capacity planning
- Identification of growth anddevelopment opportunities for direct reports and the team as a whole
- Serving as a mentor/coach providing regular feedback and performance improvement opportunities
- Working closely with Director to set task management assignment protocol, provide backup strategy for PTO coverage and to identify cross-training opportunities
- Initial point of escalation for issue resolution
- Developing and managing peer review protocols and provide peer review for custom projects
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory and/or team leader capacity overseeing the work of others
- 7+ years of experience in content writing or project management; HR and benefits content experience preferred
- Ability to organize and simultaneously handle multiple projects while working as an integral part of a team, cultivating relationships, and working independently or with minimal direction
- Effective client service expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to think critically and work consultatively across departments and with clients
- Experience delivering accurate, timely and engaging messages, through print and online channels
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related degree

Aon Consumer Benefit Solutions is hiring for a Communications Consulting Manager in a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Hammonton, NJ office. Candidates will also be considered for fully virtual if not located in New Jersey. You will report to the Director, Communications Consulting and have direct reports.

What the day will look like
The Communications Consulting Manager will have two primary job functions: 1) day-to-day management of Communications Consultants, and 2) developing open enrollment communications campaigns for clients' annual benefits enrollment periods.

How this opportunity is different
This unique role will allow you to achieve the satisfaction of managing client open enrollment campaigns from design and content creation to distribution and web development. While proving guidance and support to Communications Consultants who are working to achieve the same objectives. You'll also have a role in developing the future of the Communications team structure and procedures with the opportunity to collaborate with Consumer Benefits leadership, Health Solutions, Account Management, and other areas of Aon.

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $90,000 to $95,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
