    Description:

    Real Estate Development and Property Management company located in the Visitacion Valley district of San Francisco. We are seeking a positive, upbeat person to come onboard as our Sr. Project Accountant. The ability to effectively communicate accurately and manage tasks efficiently is a must. The candidate also must demonstrate professionalism and integrity in completing assignments. Will report to the Associate Director of Accounting.

    Responsibilities:


    • Coordinate Purchase Orders and development contracts approval within our internal system


    • Ensure all disbursements are within approved budget


    • Process operations and project payables, including coding, and maintenance of job cost reports


    • Process contractor's monthly billing, including percent of completion, retainage percent or amount and verify that it contains a valid conditional waiver and release document


    • Support Project Coordinator with tasks associated with month-end account closing reconciliations including work in process (WIP) reconciliations


    • Support Project Managers in communicating to management on remaining budget for each project


    • Prepare all monthly financial reports including, i.e. Job Cost Budget vs. Actual, Balance Sheet and Income Statement, semi-monthly cashflow forecast


    • Collaborate with both the Project and Property management team to ensure the financial information complies with professional standards


    • Perform GL account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct


    • Gather supporting documentation and perform recordkeeping in Yardi / Procore database


    • Record and maintain recurring entries for month-end closing process


    • Analyze thoroughly all General Ledger accounts with proper support schedules


    • Reconcile inter-company activities and record eliminating entries for consolidated financial statements.


    • Performing Month-end and Year-end closing procedure leading to Consolidated Financial Statements


    • Work closely with outside auditors on Year-End Audit


    • Prepare Variances Report for Management Review


    • Prepare Annual Operations and Projects Budgets with supporting details


    • Fill out various government survey reports to Bureau of Commerce and Census Bureau


    • Various ad hoc analysis to support Projects as needed

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:


    • 5 years of GL/Project Accounting experience


    • 5 years of related experience in Real Estate/Development / Property Management industry


    • High attention to detail (required)


    • Highly organized, patient, project oriented


    • Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements


    • Working knowledge in Procore software(required)


    • Basic knowledge of Yardi Voyager software (preferred)


    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot table/vlookup)


    • Must be able to work independently – take initiative to get things done with little supervision


    • Fluent in Chinese or Mandarin (board members are majority Chinese so would be nice to have someone who also speaks Chinese) (nice to have)
