**Description**
**Summary**
The Second Cook assists in the preparation and cooling of meals and in the proper maintenance of the kitchen in accordance with established dietary and sanitary procedures.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Executes approved recipes for the complete preparation in accordance with resident menu and as assigned by supervisor.
Ensures that prepared food meets temperature requirements for service and that appropriate documentation is completed.
Ensures that food is labeled, dated and stored according to policy
Maintains cooling logs and Showtime Facting logs in accordance with policy and as assigned by supervisor.
Ensures that the culinary team is appropriately staffed and makes efforts to cover staff call outs.
Maintains work areas in accordance with all dietary and sanitation requirements.
Appropriately closes department at the end of the shift and completes the department closing log.
