    Note: This is a full-time, on-site position at our corporate office

    As the Director, Safety (Transportation), you will manage all personnel and vehicular safety programs across all our locations, including New York and London. The position will report directly to the SVP of Operations. We believe that in person collaboration is critical for TopView Group's continued success, therefore this role will be a full time, on site position at our current office located in Midtown, New York, with a potential move to Bronx, New York in the near future. Weekend and holiday availability are required from time to time.

    TopView Group, a well-established sightseeing company with over a decade of successful operations in New York City, is currently experiencing rapid growth on a global scale. Powered by in-house technology, TopView Group creates one-of-a-kind experiences for everyone around the world. Our rapidly growing portfolio of products provides a variety of popular adventures, including hop-on hop-off bus tours in NYC and London, special events such as Tea Around Town and North Pole Express, sightseeing and event cruises, bike rental and tours, walking tours, and Attraction Pass. We are also planning to expand to Paris, Washington DC, San Francisco, and many other exciting locations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement and measure the effectiveness of a comprehensive safety program for the organization focused on incident prevention
    • Monitor effectiveness of performance improvement efforts, with emphasis on both leading and trailing indicators
    • Lead and oversee all aspects of development, implementation, standardization (where appropriate), and management of the Company's DOT Compliance Programs, and Coast Guard Compliance programs
    • Ensure compliance with all safety-related regulatory requirements, Federal, State, and Local regulations, OSHA standards, and EPA requirements
    • Coach and counsel bus/boat operators to ensure continued improvement and compliance with regulations
    • Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analysis, follow-up, and closure of action items
    • Leverage learning across the organization for all accidents involving Company personnel and/or equipment
    • Support workers' compensation cases
    • Perform audits on bus operators and partner with Operations to identify/recommend process and procedural improvements, as needed
    • Designs, develops, and presents technical and supervisory safety training programs
    • Perform safety inspections of various company locations including maintenance facilities, satellite offices, and bus/ boat yards
    • Provide weekly performance dashboard
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

    • Degree in an applicable discipline
    • 10+ years of safety leadership experience, preferably in the transportation industry
    • Experience dealing with governmental agencies like DOT, OSHA and their regulations
    • Sound knowledge of concepts, practices, and industry trends related to safety management and prevention techniques
    • Experience with designing and implementing a safety program
    • Strong data analysis and presentation skills
    • Able to perform root cause analysis and present logical conclusions
    • Able to establish and maintain effective collaborative working relationships with management and employees
    • Understanding of ongoing FMCSA and DOT policy changes
    • Possess an active Commercial Drivers' License with Passenger Endorsement
    • Able to establish priorities and manage workload
    • Experience with various productivity, project management and financial suites like Google Workspace, MSOffice, , , SAP, Netsuite etc.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Former experience as a trainer (preferred)
    • Experience managing a union workforce (preferred)
    • A complete driver's history report from the Division of Motor Vehicle Commission must be provided
