- Manage all aspects of purchasing for residential construction projects, including sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and coordinating deliveries.
- Use bidding software to evaluate and choose suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery speed.
- Participate in project bidding to ensure we have the necessary materials and resources to complete projects successfully.
- Work closely with builders, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and ensure all purchasing activities align with project goals.
- Estimate the cost of homebuilding materials and labor to assist in budgeting and financial planning.
- Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring they meet our standards for quality, price, and delivery.
- Keep up-to-date with market trends and changes in the construction industry to identify potential new suppliers and products.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience with bidding software and project bidding.
- Knowledge of residential construction and homebuilding estimating.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms with suppliers.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
