- Identify,cultivate, solicitandsteward a portfolio of national institutionaland family foundations. Responsibilitiesinclude leading internal program ideation sessions and responding to RFPs,grant writing, application submission and report writing.
- Participate in thedevelopment of programmatic and endowmentfundraising strategies, collaborate with executive andprogrammatic leadership to identifyfunding priorities of interest to corporate and foundation prospects,evaluatefeasibility/alignment with Museum goals.
- Develop acomprehensive corporate engagement strategy for local, regionaland national companies to support programmatic and event opportunities. Collaborateto manage cultivation and solicitation of potentialcorporate partners, develop and overseestewardship opportunities to engage corporatepartners with Museum leadership and programs.
- Write and prepare proposals,write reviewand edit letters, briefingsand otherfundraising materials for corporate and foundationspartners; advise major gift officers inproposal development.
- Manage meetings and engagementsbetween corporate and foundation prospectsand Museum leadership; host site visits andtravel to meet donors as needed.
- Track allgrants and sponsorship activity, developdashboard for assessment of outcomes and develop five-year impact plan.
- Assist Museumadministrators in the recognition of institutional funding needs, keeping up todate on institutional priorities, programs, peopleand events.
- Bachelor'sdegree required;Master'sdegree preferred;
- 5+yearsofdirectfundraisingexperience, serving as lead solicitor withcorporate and foundation prospects;
- Experience in thefields of higher education, healthcareor large arts/cultural organizations;
- Mastery of the skills,principles, practices, and techniques associated with implementing andsuccessfully executing corporate and foundation engagement witha national scope;
- Excellent written andverbal communication skills;
- Proactive strategicthinker with strong organizational skillsand an ability towork independently and as a team member.
- Strong leadership,interpersonal, organizationaland problem-solving skills with attention to detail, the ability to work withambiguity, navigate a complex work environment and manage multiple projectsimultaneously;
- Possess ahigh level of professionalism and commitmentto confidentialitywith sound judgment and discretion.

The Directorof Development - Corporate and Foundation Relations reportstothe Vice President of Institutional Advancement, is a keymember of the major gift team and oversees and isresponsible for developingand executing a comprehensive engagement andfundraising plan for corporations, foundationsandinstitutional donors to advance the mission of the Museum.
The Director isresponsible for leading the engagementand fundraising efforts for grantsand sponsorships;cultivating relationshipswith corporate partners, institutional and familyfoundations;and overseeing the entire grants and sponsorship lifecycle.
The Director will join a major gift team that includesDirectors of Development for the following regions: Louisiana/Texas,Eastand Mid-Atlantic, South and Central,West and Midwest, as well as a Director of Planned Giving.
