- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of national institutional and family foundations. Responsibilities include leading internal program ideation sessions and responding to RFPs, grant writing, application submission and report writing.
- Participate in the development of programmatic and endowment fundraising strategies, collaborate with executive and programmatic leadership to identify funding priorities of interest to corporate and foundation prospects, evaluate feasibility/alignment with Museum goals.
- Develop a comprehensive corporate engagement strategy for local, regional and national companies to support programmatic and event opportunities. Collaborate to manage cultivation and solicitation of potential corporate partners, develop and oversee stewardship opportunities to engage corporate partners with Museum leadership and programs.
- Write and prepare proposals, write review and edit letters, briefings and other fundraising materials for corporate and foundations partners; advise major gift officers in proposal development.
- Manage meetings and engagements between corporate and foundation prospects and Museum leadership; host site visits and travel to meet donors as needed.
- Track all grants and sponsorship activity, develop dashboard for assessment of outcomes and develop five-year impact plan.
- Assist Museum administrators in the recognition of institutional funding needs, keeping up to date on institutional priorities, programs, people and events.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred;
- 5+ years of direct fundraising experience, serving as lead solicitor with corporate and foundation prospects;
- Experience in the fields of higher education, healthcare or large arts/cultural organizations;
- Mastery of the skills, principles, practices, and techniques associated with implementing and successfully executing corporate and foundation engagement with a national scope;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Proactive strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, the ability to work with ambiguity, navigate a complex work environment and manage multiple project simultaneously;
- Possess a high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion.

Job DescriptionDescription:The National WWII Museum is seeking a Director of Development - Corporate and Foundation Relations. The Director of Development - Corporate and Foundation Relations reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, is a key member of the major gift team and oversees and is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive engagement and fundraising plan for corporations, foundations and institutional donors to advance the mission of the Museum.
The Director is responsible for leading the engagement and fundraising efforts for grants and sponsorships; cultivating relationships with corporate partners, institutional and family foundations; and overseeing the entire grants and sponsorship lifecycle.
The Director will join a major gift team that includes Directors of Development for the following regions: Louisiana/Texas, East and Mid-Atlantic, South and Central, West and Midwest, as well as a Director of Planned Giving.
