The Project:

The "Transformation Network Altenkirchen/ Westerwald" (TraForce) as a joint project of IG Metall Betzdorf, Technology Institute for Metal and Engineering (TIME), and Economic Development Agency of Altenkirchen has successfully applied for the funding program "Transformation Strategy for the Automotive and Supplier Industry" by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.


As part of the project, a support system for the transformation process in the automotive and supplier industry will be established based on a regional overall strategy that is yet to be formulated.

The network aims to contribute to overcoming future challenges in the automotive and supplier industry and develop a resilient business region.

To achieve this, the strengths of the region will be consolidated in the coming years and transformed into a highly qualified and innovative supplier.

The employees and their qualifications, the design of work and technologies, as well as their use in production and products of tomorrow, play a crucial role in this process.

Knowledge transfer and networking within the region will be strengthened and expanded.


Together with all relevant stakeholders (companies, trade unions, employee representatives, public administration, civil society, universities and research institutions, chambers and associations), a regional transformation network will be established in the next 2.5 years that will continue beyond the funding period.
