    Job Title:
    Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist


    Location:
    Portland, Oregon


    Our Client is an employee-owned specialty consulting firm focusing on geotechnical engineering and engineering geology in the Pacific Northwest, Mountain West, and Alaska regions.

    We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist with 4 to 7 years of experience to join our team in the dam safety and slope stability/landslide practice groups.


    Responsibilities:
    Plan, manage, and execute site investigations for dams, levees, and landslides.

    Develop and execute laboratory testing programs.

    Complete design analyses and calculations for slope stability evaluations, seepage studies, seismic site response studies, and more.

    Write geotechnical reports summarizing engineering analyses and design recommendations.

    Perform specialized geotechnical inspection and design duties during construction.

    Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

    Collaborate with senior staff to develop scopes of work and budget estimates.


    Qualifications:
    MS degree in geotechnical or geological engineering, or MS in civil engineering with a geotechnical specialty.

    4 to 7 years of relevant work experience.

    EIT or PE registration depending on years of experience.

    Strong background in soil mechanics.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Proficiency in geotechnical engineering software (e.g., GeoStudio Suite, FLAC, LPILE, MATLAB/Python).

    Experience with geotechnical instrumentation data collection and reduction.

    Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation.

    Willingness to learn and apply new techniques/tools.

    Ability to work effectively in project teams of 2 to 5 persons.

    Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    Willingness to travel regionally as needed.

    Salary Range:
    $75,000 – $95,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
