    Description

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The Scientist must utilize expert technical knowledge of X-ray techniques to address challenging customer applications.
    • Provide applications support for semiconductor metrology tools using a variety of X-ray analytical techniques such as Xray fluorescence (XRF), Xray diffraction (XRD), Xray reflectometry (XRR), and small angle Xray scattering (SAXS).
    • Support the service team in new tool installations and conduct in-depth analysis to troubleshoot tool issues.
    • Assist customers both remotely and on-site with recipe creation and optimization, tool operation, and data analysis.
    • Offer assistance to the sales team to guarantee customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
    • Create technical documentation, application notes, and training materials.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Metrology, or Solid State.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an applications scientist or applications engineer in a semiconductor metrology tool manufacturer or as a process engineer in a semiconductor device manufacturer focusing on thin film quality control/metrology.
    • Industry experience in Lab and Fab applications related to wafer analysis, SiC, Thin Films, or Topography.
    • Thorough understanding of X-ray physics, spectroscopy, diffraction, and scattering.
    • Proficiency in data analysis techniques and skills.
    • Strong communication skills. Knowledge of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, or Hebrew is a plus.
    • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
