Collins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA, is looking for a dedicated and skilled Quality Control Inspector to join our team in a fast-paced setting.

The position involves visual and dimensional inspection of energetic parts, materials, and manufactured assemblies in meeting blueprint, regulatory, and contract requirements.

Inspections consist of using standard measuring instruments as well as special measuring instruments and gages. The inspectors also complete inspection records, logs, and rejection report reviews as part of their final inspection operation.

Our facility manufactures and tests explosive, propellant, and cartridge-actuated devices. From small, discrete devices to canopy removal systems, our facilities support a nearly unlimited selection of products. We know what's at stake every day when we come to work.

This position will work onsite in Fairfield, CA.


Compensation and Benefits:

- $24.00 per hour starting rate (1.5x per hour after 8 hours per day)

Schedule:


  • This position is for 1st shift.


  • Monday

  • Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m
  • Overtime is available and/or mandatory on a business need basis.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Uses standard measuring instruments to perform inprocess/final inspection and document acceptable/noncompliant conditions per the Quality Management System.
  • Perform a variety of manual/administrative tasks to include the use of computer systems associated with quality inspection of aerospace components.
  • Interpret and use a variety of quality policies, procedures, and other documentation (e.g., engineering prints, engineering changes, inspection checklists, and process instructions).
  • Present products to our customers and government representatives after verification of all documentation.
  • Proficient in units of measure for length, weight, and volume.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
  • Perform basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Typically requires a High School Diploma or GED. In the absence of a High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Two years of practical experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
  • Experience in the use of precision measurement tools.
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills, including the ability to use other computer programs.
