    Description

    Summary

    Since 1987, Visual Comfort & Co. has been the premier resource for signature designer lighting. We are looking for an IT Specialist to join our team. We are looking for this person to have experience with desktop and server operating systems including Windows 10, 11 and Windows Server.

    Responsibilities


    • Field incoming help requests from end users via telephone, email and/or help desk ticket

    requests responsible for ticket life cycle from request to documented resolution


    • Gather information from end users related to submitted issues


    • Escalate help desk issues as necessary to next level support


    • Provide support in a professional, caring, expeditious and effective manner


    • Open/update a ticket for every incoming/outgoing call, e-mail and voicemail


    • Provide detailed information and all troubleshooting steps for every ticket


    • Determine and assign each ticket to its appropriate Problem Type


    • Maintain online projects and issues databases in coordination with vendors


    • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software,

    implementing file backups and configuring systems and applications.


    • Communicate effectively with internal and external business partners


    • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement


    • Maintain documentation for solutions, departmental procedures and daily/monthly

    checklists


    • Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position, as directed by the

    IS Manager

    Requirements


    • College degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience


    • 2+ years' experience in systems support, preferred


    • Experience with desktop and server operating systems including Windows 10, 11 and Windows

    Server


    • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and maintenance


    • Familiar with Active Directory Administration


    • Strong understanding of network concepts and troubleshooting methodology


    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications; Office 365 experience a plus


    • Experience with PowerShell CLI a plus


    • Strong organizational, documentation and follow-up skills


    • Exceptional interpersonal/team skills – ability to interface with all levels


    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
