Description

Tech Support Specialist Intern

Purpose :

The intern will assist the staff in providing quality customer service under supervision in various assignments related to the function of the Helpdesk and assist in testing software created by the tech team.

This will be a great place to start to get a technical dive into basic and advanced systems in a fast-paced environment.

You will be trained and mentored by various IT managers and developers to get the best experience you need to advance into the technological world.

This role reports to the Director of Technology. Required work dates include June 3rdthrough the week of the GLS, July 2- August 12, 2024.

Global Leadership Network (GLN)

is a nonprofit organization in South Barrington, Illinois. Our purpose is to introduce more people to Jesus and fully follow Him.

We accomplish this by serving pastors and equipping churches to inspire Kingdom-oriented leaders worldwide through the Global Leadership Summit and other leadership development resources.

The Global Leadership Summit is attended by 60,000+ leaders in 400 sites (primarily churches) throughout the United States.

The Summit is translated into 50+ languages and held in over 800 sites in 110 countries reaching over 240,000 international leaders from September to April.

Hybrid Work Schedule :

This position has a hybrid schedule, including working at home Monday and Friday and being in the office Tuesday through Thursday.

In-person days may be necessary during the weeks leading into the Summit event at the South Barrington campus.

Summer Intern (Mid/End of May - Aug. 12, 2024), 40 hrs. p/week, Hourly (non-Exempt)

Primary Responsibilities :

Assist Help Desk customers with troubleshooting of computer-related issues such as Zoom or Microsoft Team sound/webcam/setup email on client computer/software installs.

Utilize the Jira ticketing system for all incoming client tasks.
Install and/or upgrade Microsoft Windows operating system and Office product.
Troubleshoot and repair common computer hardware problems and installation.
Perform other miscellaneous Tech duties as requested.
Conference and events setup and support network, webcam, multiple computers, etc.
Prerelease product QA, testing in different environments, including web and mobile, writing bug reports, providing timely status updates.
Actively participate in one-on-one meetings with manager, team meetings, all-staff meetings, and cross-functional meetings, as needed.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience with Microsoft Products:
Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365
Installation software on PC/Mac
Formatting and replacing Hard Drive
Some analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of iOS and Android devices
Setup computers and printers
Some network knowledge is a plus.
Experience with customer service is a plus.
Detail oriented

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
H.S. graduate or maybe pursuing a degree in IT related field (preferred)
Due to the conference preparation, no vacation is allowed between Monday, July 8 Monday, Aug. 12, 2024.
