    Description

    Duties * Serves as key advisor to management for acquisition/contracting policy issues related to the MEDCOM contract planning, execution, and administration.

    * Establishes and maintains liaison with headquarters counterparts, higher headquarters, and subordinate activities for the category management mission and functional areas support in contracting.

    * Resolves any problems areas incident thereof and furnishes technical advice on the adequacy or feasibility of proposals and recommendations.

    * Study of specific problem areas and ensure that appropriate action is taken to correct deficiencies.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

    * This position is Non-Critical Sensitive (2) requiring a Secret security clearance; the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

    * This position requires submission of a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter. * This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time. * This position requires Level III DAWIA Certification in Contracting and/or DoD Contracting Professional Certification.

    Basic Requirements:

    • A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field; or
    • At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
    In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

    Specialized Experience:
    One year of specialized experience which includes 1) managing acquisition and contract policy and procedures for the planning, execution, and administration of contracts; 2) assessing and improving organizational and program effectiveness; and 3) communicating with senior level leaders and external customers to provide information and guidance.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

    • Writing Time in

    Grade Requirement:
    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14)


    Education FOREIGN EDUCATION:

    If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S.
