We are partnering with an E-commerce/Retail company who is looking for a Controller to oversee all financial activities and work effectively cross functionally to elevate the Company's overall financial reporting environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will play a crucial role in bringing all of accounting in house and building out a team. This will be the first accounting hire so this individual needs to be comfortable being a hands on leader, building out a team, and ideally someone who has done an ERP implementation preferably in NetSuite.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead general ledger and accounting function, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate financial accounts
Build an internal accounting team, transitioning away from an outsourced book-keeping function
Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, treasury, and payroll functions.
Manage the transition to a new ERP platform (NetSuite), to be implemented within the first year
Manage the month-end closing process and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly in a timely manner
Prepare, analyze and submit monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial data and present findings to leadership for decision-making purposes
Implement and maintain new processes and internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks
Collaborate with CFO to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities
Manage the coordination and completion of annual financial audits, and all related inventory tracking required to produce clean audited financials
Coordinate with outside tax accountants on annual income tax returns, and regular sales tax filings

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in a corporate accounting position
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
CPA designation highly preferred
Candidates MUST have retail or e-commerce industry experience
High performer, demonstrating consistent career progression and increasing responsibilities
NetSuite experience, and experience in ERP migration, highly preferred
Experience building a team highly preferred

the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
licensure and certification requirements;
office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
