- Incorporates the appropriate assessment and intervention skills utilizing the nursing process in the delivery of nursing care on his/her unit for a specified group of patients on a designated shift.
- Practices consistently with applicable state nursing practice regulations, applicable ASC policies and procedures, and the ANA Code of Ethics.
- Communicates with patients, team members and management in an accurate and timely manner using written and verbal skills effectively and considerately.
- Ensures proper equipment is available and ready for surgical cases.
- Ensures safety measures including time out process, safe patient positioning, required surgical documentation, and surgical count process are appropriately performed.
- Promotes compassionate, efficient, cost-effective and quality patient care.
- Incorporates teaching principles into practice and demonstrate competence in health promotion and disease prevention.
- Demonstrates qualities consistent with the role applying leadership skills appropriately.
- Applies critical thinking skills and considers alternatives in the delivery of patient care.
- Develops and maintains human care relationships and integrates the influence of the human experience of health, illness and/or healing.
- Applies knowledge integration skills for the patient populations served within the Surgical Services Unit.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school required
- ADN with two years experience
- BSN with one year experience
- Current VT nursing license
- BLS, ACLS, required
