    Job Description


    The Electrical Engineer shall have electrical planning, program management or project management experience that specializes in Aviation and Federal projects.

    Conducts ASHRAE Level 2 commercial building energy audits.


    Conducts energy audit activities including data collection, systems analysis, energy efficiency system operation recommendations, capital improvement recommendations, cost-benefit analysis and reporting.

    Applies ENERGY STAR principles and methodology for benchmarking, metrics, systems performance and analytics.

    Participates in the development of project scope for capital improvement programs.

    Applies expert knowledge of commonly used electrical concepts, practices, codes and procedures.

    Applies knowledge and experience to complex projects.

    Responsible for overall project execution and successful completion on time and within budget.


    Responsible for the development and performance of on-site ASHRAE energy audits and condition assessments to identify applicable and cost-effective energy efficiency and demand response measures.

    Lead energy savings and cost analysis for energy efficiency and demand response measures.
    Prioritize energy and operational improvements based on budgets.
    Responsible for leading assessments, detailed evaluations, measurement and verification reports and retro-commissioning plans for existing facilities.
    Provide direction and participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and establishing critical project objectives.
    Review, approve, and communicate internal and external reports including project budgeting, and project status reports.
    Present reports to internal and external executive management as required.

    Responsible for facilitating project cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structure establishment, project set-up and closeout, and field progress tracking as required.

    Support communication with governmental, industry, and public entities on project-related matters.
    Provide mentorship and training to assistant electrical engineers and assistant project managers.
    May be assigned to a project site based on project requirements.
    Qualifications
    BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
    Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.

    A minimum of 7 years of direct or related experience with retro-commissioning, energy evaluation complex HVAC, lighting, power and control systems.

    Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
    Highly effective communicator with clear and concise writing and presentation skills.
    High level of attention to detail with ability to quality-review work.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    Ability to forensically evaluate energy-consuming systems, detect and evaluate deficiencies, quantify energy losses, and determine cost.
    Experience developing and managing work plans, schedules and budgets.

    Demonstrated experience in combined heat and power/co-generation, central utility plants, data centers, healthcare facilities, laboratories, water/wastewater facilities, controls, building envelope, TAB, NETA electrical testing, renewable energy and other specialties is a plus.

    Knowledge of ASHRAE and ENERGY STAR standards and principles
    Knowledge of ANSI and IEEE Standards
    Experience with energy audit and project management software is preferred.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

    Multiple years of experience executing planning or program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, oil & gas is preferred.
