    Description

    Pomerantz LLP is a law firm based in midtown Manhattan that specializes in class action securities litigation. We monitor the financial portfolios of some of the most influential institutional investors worldwide to identify their financial exposure in potential class actions against publicly traded companies that might have committed securities fraud or corporate misconduct.

    The Junior Financial Analyst will calculate losses for individuals and institutional investors who invested in financial securities. He/she/they will process large volumes of transaction data from public pension funds, asset management companies, and high net worth individuals to determine if their publicly traded securities (such as common stocks, options or corporate bonds) have been "damaged" from the revelation of securities fraud. The Junior Financial Analyst will run reports to search for the relevant security identifiers for new and settled cases and use the Bloomberg terminal to pull company specific data on ad-hoc projects.

    The Financial Analyst will also research a company's insider transactions and historical financial data in the context of securities litigation. He/she/they will work closely with preparers of monthly client reports and will update loss figures on a daily basis as we receive new client data.

    The successful candidate will be an integral member of a high-performing, highly professional, and supportive financial analysis team.

    Required Skills & Experience

    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

    Thorough understanding of finance and accounting concepts, including securities/markets knowledge.

    Excellent due diligence and organizational skills and the ability to work with a cool head in a fast-paced environment.

    Proficiency with Excel. Use of formulas is an absolute must; macros and Power BI are plusses. Power BI, Python, SQL, and/or C++ experience is not required, but the ideal candidate will show an affinity or willingness to learn computer languages or new software.

    Comfortable learning and adapting to new software.
