    Description

    Position: Research Compliance Officer

    Company: Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago, IL

    This job opportunity is based at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL, part of the VHA Facility and under the Office of the Medical Center Director. The main focus of this role is to lead, strategize, and supervise compliance and training in the Research Program.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership for the facility's research compliance program
    • Develop and implement compliance oversight activities
    • Prepare research compliance reports
    • Monitor research activities and conduct audits
    • Create and update compliance control systems and procedures
    • Ensure full compliance in various research areas
    • Act as the local expert on regulations and policies
    • Train research oversight committees
    • Work full-time, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

    Work Environment:

    • Mainly sedentary work with occasional travel
    • Office environment with possible off-site meetings

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • U.S. Citizen
    • Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
    • Background/security investigation
    • Completion of onboarding process

    Specialized Experience:

    Minimum one year at GS-11 level in developing compliance activities for a Research Program, covering human research subjects, laboratory animal welfare, and research safety and security
