The
Institute for Empirical Sociology (
IfeS) has been a renowned non-profit research institute for over 70 years, with the status of an "Institute at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg".


We are currently seeking a
Research Area Leader (m/f/d) for our research focus on "Mobility and Traffic Safety Research (MOVE)", ideally starting on October 1st, 2023, in full-time.


Requirements:


  • Completed degree in Social Sciences / Socioeconomics / Sociology or Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction (Diploma, Master or equivalent) and PhD (or equivalent achievements, demonstrated through relevant publications)
  • Excellent knowledge of empirical social research methods in data collection and analysis
  • Relevant professional experience in planning, conducting and leading empirical research projects, preferably in the field of mobility research
  • Proven experience in acquiring research projects
  • Strong communication skills and motivation for active networking
  • Teamwork and ability to work independently
  • Sensitivity in dealing with different stakeholders
  • Very good English skills, both written and spoken

Your responsibilities:


  • Leading the mobility research area at the institute
  • Continuing and completing existing research projects and acquiring future projects in the field of mobility research and potentially humanmachine interaction
  • Writing reports and scientific publications and presenting results at national and international conferences
