    Property Claims Adjuster

    Overview of Position

    Manages an assigned case load of first party property claims on various home types from traditional, mobile and condominiums with a standard authority limit. This includes making coverage decisions and assessing/valuing damages. The role interacts with policy holders, public adjusters, attorneys, and other third parties throughout the claims management process. Adheres to state compliance on claims handling and company guidelines.

    What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
    • Manages an inventory of claims to evaluate coverages and damages. Establishes action plan based on facts of loss, policy, best practices, regulatory issues, and state laws.
    • Plans and conducts investigations of claims to confirm coverage and accurately assess damage to indemnify policy holder.
    • Assesses policy coverages and notifies insured of any issues; determines and establishes reserve requirements for both indemnity and expense on a regular basis and makes recommendations to set reserves at appropriate level for claims outside of authority level.
    • Document file appropriately to move files to timely conclusion.
    • Reviewing estimates and supplements to properly negotiate and settle payments with insureds and vendors.
    • Strong empathy and customer service skills.
    • Apply knowledge of policy, Xactimate and general claims handling guidelines.
    • Able to demonstrate abilities to be a self-starter, adaptable and autonomous worker.
    What are the requirements needed for this position?
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum 3 years in property claims or equivalent related P&C insurance experience.
    • Strong analytical, listening, problem solving, critical thinking and negotiating skills.
    • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
    • Detail oriented with a commitment to excellence.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate and enter data on multiple screens.
    • Resiliency when dealing with dynamic workloads and bringing grit and determination to get things done.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and spend time on what adds the most value.
    • Good verbal and written communications skills and ability to draft business-level communications when responding to customers.
    • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision to manage schedules and meet deadlines.
    • to work overtime when needed during catastrophes or other heavy work volume periods.
    Other Requirements:
    • Adjusters License will be required in all states where adjuster licensing is applicable or the successful acquiring of one within the defined timeframe.

    • Associates/bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • Listening, problem solving, and negotiating skills.
    • Proven organizational and multi-tasking ability with an ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced work environment.

    Pay Range:
    $ $37.32

    Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
