    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license, as issued by the Ohio State Department of Education as an Intervention Specialist Mild/Moderate, Office of Teacher Certification and Licensure, pursuant to ORC to or in accordance with standards authorized by law
    2. Ability to provide leadership and direction and to work cooperatively with other professional staff
    3. Ability to maintain effective relationships with teachers, administrators, staff, parents and community members
    4. Ability to communicate effectively in written or oral form to staff, students, parents, and community members
    5. Previous experience in working with high school students
    6. Teaching experience with at-risk student population, or ability to teach at-risk students
    POSITION DUTIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Ensure safety of student
    • Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
    • Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a good learning environment
    • Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of learners
    • Use summative and formative assessment results to collect, analyze, and interpret data to help inform instructional decisions
    • Keep abreast of current IDEA rules and regulations
    • Use proper forms for the IDEA and IEP processes and ensure appropriate deadlines for each
    • Refer students suspected of learning difficulties to the intervention assistance team
    • Communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in written format to all stakeholders of the learning community as necessary
    • Collaborate daily with the Special Education Director
    • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents through effective use of interim reports, report cards, and conferences
    • Collaborate with colleagues
    SALARY: Salary schedule placement commensurate with experience and training
