    Description
    Position Summary: The lab lead is responsible for the administrative and day to day operations of the on-site laboratory. The lab lead ensure that the lab adheres to practice and regulatory guidelines ensuring practices and procedures are appropriate.

    Responsibilities:
    • Collects and analyzes patient specimens and records normal and abnormal results in the electronic medical record.
    • Discuss specimen sample results with the ordering provider.
    • Train staff members on lab procedures, policies, proper use of equipment and safety procedures.
    • Take ownership of lab equipment maintenance and calibration schedules, coordinate lab consultant as needed, and ensure equipment is operating properly.
    • Maintain supplies and equipment inventories: orders supplies and equipment for the laboratory.
    • Complete all laboratory compliance checklists, paperwork, and ensure lab is operating within federal and state guidelines governing all sites that test specimens.
    • Works alongside nursing staff, providers, managers, and outside consultants.
    • Maintains the highest level of patient confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

    Position Requirements:
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to be resourceful and maintain professionalism in stressful environments

    Experience and Required Education:
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the pediatric lab
    • High School Diploma or GED Require
