Compensation Range:
$60,000/yr - $65,000/yr commensurate with experience


Overview:

The Housing Works, Inc. Ready For Work Department provides job readiness training to individuals who are ready and able to work. The department currently operates two programs with the end goal of employment.

1)

Ready For Work:
job readiness training which includes an acceleration to employment component.

Services include courses in Life Skills, Technology, Resume Writing/Cover Letter Creation, Interviewing Skills, Benefit Planning, OSHA 30, Flagger Certification, Microsoft Suite certification, and twenty hours a week stipend-based Internship.

2)

Peer Training Program:

This component of the Ready For Work program offers Peer Stipend positions within Housing Works and includes all the above courses except the internship.

Each participant enrolled in the program receives weekly job counseling, job readiness skills, and employment placement assistance.


The Program Manager will report to the Program Director and will be responsible for, but not limited to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program, develop and maintain the activities that support the program's main objectives.

The Program Manager should be able to demonstrate leadership and team-building skills, communicate effectively with all the team members to execute the deliverables of the program, be able to resolve conflicts in the best possible manner, and develop processes to operate and manage the program efficiently.

The Program Manager will have experience working with City, State and Federal contracts and have supervisory experience.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide daytoday management of program services and troubleshoot concerns as needed.
  • Provide weekly supervision to program staff as well as Volunteers and Social Work Interns if needed.
  • Conduct monthly program audits to ensure program compliance and contractual needs are met.
  • Utilize findings from monthly audits to inform quality improvement efforts.
  • Assist with integrating of program with other Housing Works services and tracks program referrals.
  • Complete program reports including monthly reports to funders and senior management promptly.
  • Collaborate with Administrative Support to monitor data tracking systems (AIRS) and other systems for contract compliance.
  • Participate in case conference as needed.
  • Participate in program and department leadership activities.
  • Devise new strategies that support the program's objectives.
  • Create sustainable goals for the program.
  • Evaluate and assess the programs' strengths and weaknesses.
  • Assist with recruitment, and enrolment of new participants.
  • Provide help and guidance for clients who are facing different professional challenges.
  • Uphold a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with internal and external programs to prepare clients for RFW/employment, Ex., Adult Day Health Care/Justice Initiate/Re-Entry program for recruiting and employment.
  • Participate in advocacy and direct actions to end the twin crises of homelessness and AIDS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in social services
  • 35 years of program administration and supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of social services programs.
