Description

We are looking for a skilled Test Technician to join our team at Coherent Corp. in Bloomfield, CT.
This role involves assisting in the manufacturing of high-power CO2 lasers at our facility. We need someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment where the products are always evolving.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Work on assignments that require the ability to identify deviations from standard practices
Handle free-space optical components
Operate laser beam analyzers, optical power meters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes
Support Lean Initiatives such as 3S weekly and 6S monthly activities
Promote a safe work environment and encourage safe practices
Perform other tasks as necessary for business operations

Education & Experience

Technical Associates degree or Certificate in Laser Electro Optics or a related field plus 0 years of experience --- OR experience in opto-mechanical, electronics assembly, or testing
Experience in Mechanical and Electrical Assembly is a must

Skills

Ability to follow work instructions and interpret optical, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, vacuum systems, and electrical devices
Experience in testing digital and analog systems
Capability to read drawings and use measurement instruments
Preferably knowledgeable about laser components
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Adept at troubleshooting, resolving issues, and providing recommendations
Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
Good at collaborating with diverse teams
Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift objects weighing around 50lbs
