The client below is a leading global automotive seating supplier, supporting all major automakers in the differentiation of their vehicles through superior quality, technology, and performance with more than $13 billion in sales in FY2021, The Client is a global leader in automotive Position: Test Technician - Comfort Lab Location: Plymouth, MI, 48170 Duration: 6 Months Job Type: Contract Work type: Onsite Shift: 1st shift Job Description: Job Purpose:

A hands-on laboratory based position that utilizes equipment, software and hardware to setup and run tests that evaluate and/or validate seating mechanisms.
This position ensures that these tests are conducted safely, efficiently, correctly, and in accordance with published and/or provided specifications and requirements.

Comfort specific Duties:

Determine seat H-Points by executing existing test procedures using SAE J826 mannikins.
Scan seat surfaces to create 3D Models using Faro arms / laser scanners.
Produce pressure maps of seat cushions and backs using Xsensor pressure mats.
Take head rest dimensional measurements per applicable regulations.
Perform a variety of safety checks and or functional checks on seat test samples.

General Duties:

Conduct post-test data processing and interpretation of results.
Completion of any necessary testing documentation which may include calibration sheets, data sheets, test reports, video files, still photos.
Maintains safe, secure, and clean workplace by following 5S standards.
Conduct equipment maintenance and/or repair as applicable.
Maintain calibration records for lab equipment and instrumentation.
Review calibration records supplied by outside calibration laboratory for lab equipment and instrumentation to ensure accuracy.
Use Global Lab Information System (gLIMs) for test data and information.
Support test report process by uploading files, loading test data and information, provide test summary and observations.
Attend department meetings as required.
Interface with test engineers and customers as required.
Support test method development and/or continuous improvement projects as required.
Handle material movement as required (i.e. fixtures, pallets, and test samples).

Required Skills:

Test lab experience (equipment, methods, and instruments)

Required Education:

Associates degree / technical degree / vocational training / Related work experience

Required Years of Experience

3+ years

Desired Skills:

Experience measuring H-Points.
Laser scanning using Faro arms/scanners.
Pressure mapping using Xsensor pressure mats.

Desired Years of Experience:

3+ years of test experience preferably in automotive. Automotive seating experience would be optimal.
