- Ensure continuity of supply using systems, strong communication and relationship skills
- Validate and execute supply plans for direct materials into active purchase orders
- Support other purchasing areas including indirect materials, new product introductions, MRO, and outside services
- Support lean methodologies and ISO standards
- Review purchase order acknowledgements for accuracy
- Manage supplier promise dates, shipping discrepancies, and past due POs for all branches
- Research and resolve purchase order price variances; authorize payments and manage expenses
- Track and identify supplier and industry price increases; identify areas for cost improvement
- Maintain inventory counts on select materials
- Research, support, and process inventory counts and adjustments
- Update vendor settings and price files in ERP environment
- Support promotions, non-standard buys, and special purchase objectives
- 3-5 years working in a fast-paced procurement/purchasing role, or equivalent knowledge
- Knowledge of MRP processes within an ERP system a plus
- Must be capable of multi-tasking and communicate effectively to meet internal and external customer needs
- Degree preferred or equivalent experience; minimum high school diploma. Certifications preferred.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- EXCELLENT teamwork, communication, time management, and phone skills
- Basic accounting acumen; analytics/math skills
- Ability to plan and organize one's time and support other time zones; flexible work schedule may be offered or required
- Disciplined self-starter
- Demonstrates excellent, professional job performance in productivity, quality, safety, and attendance
