- Candidate must possess a keen interest and enthusiasm for engaging, teaching, working and mentoring students in care of the childbearing family (labor, delivery, postpartum & newborn) and adult medical-surgical nursing theory.
- Knowledge of nursing simulation is required.
- Candidate must possess strong clinical skills and experience in acute care/medical surgical nursing and care of the childbearing family.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues both within the department, throughout the University community and within the clinical settings outside of the University
- Candidate must engage in on campus presence, hold on campus office hours and participate in selected departmental and University wide committees.
- Flexibility in scheduling is required as some teaching is required in both the day BSN and evening ASN programs.
- Master of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
- Doctoral preparation preferred, or in progress.
- Academic teaching experience preferred.
- Unencumbered NH RN license (or eligibility for licensure in NH).
- Unencumbered Massachusetts RN license (or eligibility for licensure in MA).
- Demonstrated ability in and commitment to teaching excellence in a broad range of undergraduate clinical and didactic courses.
- Desire to mentor undergraduate students in their course work and career goals.
- Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information.
- Ability to collaborate with other faculty and staff and maintain collegial relations.
- Self-starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
- Computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing and Canvas is preferred.
