Description

BASIC FUNCTION: The Registered Nurse (RN) works as a contributing member of the Medical-Surgical Department at our main hospital campus. They will provide professional nursing care, treatment, counseling, and health education to assigned inpatients. The RN works as a part of a health care team and plans in conjunction with physicians and other care team members.

SALARY INFORMATION :

$ $44.91 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for weekend and night shifts
10% differential on top of base pay

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitors vital signs, administers medications, including intravenous medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with physicians and other members of the care team.
Provides support to patients including bandage maintenance, pain management, and ensuring patients receive adequate rest, fluids and nutrients.
Observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical records, and updates attending physicians directly when necessary.
Provides patient education and advocates for patients as necessary.
The RN assists in the maintenance of health and the prevention or management of illness, injury and disability.
Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
Valid registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado required. A temporary permit issued by the Board of Nursing will be accepted until a permanent license is received if awaiting reciprocity.
Must have current BLS card upon hire.
Position also requires ACLS, PALS or ENPC certification within 6 months of initial employment.
All required certifications must maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
One year or more professional nursing experience in a patient care setting.
