**Job Summary:**
The Catering Sales Coordinator Assistant will respond to general inquiries and participate in Catering and Event meetings. They must be able to deal with a high volume of incoming calls, create Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), maintain filing systems, act as a liaison with other departments when necessary, and maintain a professional environment. This role needs to be capable of managing multiple projects and responsibilities with ease, and be well organized and detail-oriented. Responsible for supporting the Companies mission, vision, and values by providing fun and games like no place else, and adheres to the Canterbury Way by focusing on our core values of family, fun, integrity, and community.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
Lead by example.
Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, delegates effectively and coaches and mentors direct reports for growth opportunities.
Take food and beverage order from client. As well as setting up sponsored races. Put all pertinent information into a Banquet Event Order (BEO). Take final guarantees from clients when due and relay to all departments.
Distribution of client expectations via BEOs to all Departments.
Make packets for each catered event that include: admission tickets, drink tickets, buffet tickets, betting vouchers, etc Each packet will either be sent out or left at the valet window will call for pick up.
Clerical duties: make drink/buffet tickets, request betting vouchers, etc. Enter all group information into triple seat to generate an event order.
To be knowledgeable of the live racing catering menu as well as all live racing group areas sold.
Adjust final counts and food & beverage changes on BEOs for Sr. Catering Sales Manager & Catering Sales Coordinator.
Update departments to any BEO changes and update BEO books.
Attends BEO weekly meetings.
Assist with catered events as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Assist in other areas & with other departments as needed to help uphold the Canterbury way.

**Required Qualifications:**
High School Diploma, pursuing or has acquired an Associates or Bachelor degree in Sales, business or communications and 2 years or more of progressive experience in hospitality and sales/conference services or related field; OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved.
Must have strong organizational skills.
Must be able to interact with guests, co-workers and vendors in a professional, courteous manner.
Must be adaptable, versatile and tactful in dealings with the public.
The ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure is essential.
Must be detail orientated.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel a must.
Canterbury Park conducts pre-employment screening for all positions which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Must have High School Diploma or GED. Experience in the food and beverage industry, background in catering operations desired.
Strong communication skills.
Strong computer skills in Word, Triple Seat and Social Tables are preferred.
