Position Summary:

The Patient Services Rep II provides patient-families with a positive experience at CHLA by performing clerical tasks primarily associated with answering incoming calls, registration, and patient check-in/out procedures, collection of patient co-pay or deductibles, scheduling and verifying patient appointments.

Completes financial clearance and authorization duties, serves as the administrative support for assigned providers. Works closely with assigned providers to ensure follow up care is completed. Assists with creation and review of divisional performance reports and metrics.

The Patient Services II team in Endocrinology is responsible for supporting both the families and the providers at CHLA. They take a high volume of calls daily and work very closely with providers (MDs, NPs).


Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
One year experience in medical front office setting, 3+ years in medical office setting preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is higly preferred. Experience with EMR (Cerner) strongly preferred. Excellent telephone manner and ability to deal effectively with the public. Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.


Education/Licensure/Certifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
