We are searching for a

Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity

(CDI). This person will be responsible for leading Aledades clinical documentation integrity team, which supports 1,400+ independent practices to improve the completeness and accuracy of their diagnosis documentation.
This role will report to the Vice President of Risk Stratification, within Aledades Performance department.

Primary Duties:
Recruit, manage, retain, & coach CDI specialists to educate independent primary care practices and community health centers, with the goal of improving diagnosis documentation integrity, accuracy, & completeness
Develop, execute, & report on a cross-Aledade CDI education strategy
Serve as a subject matter expert for Aledades risk stratification-related technical services and products
Serve as a subject matter expert for Aledade staff and practices on coding and billing challenges
In collaboration with the Business Intelligence team, design and maintain CDI education reporting for both internal and external use
In collaboration with the Impact Analytics team, design impact evaluations of our CDI education offerings
Analyze CDI educator performance and act on learnings from Business Intelligence and Impact Analytics efforts to drive continuous program improvement and manage team and employee performance
Act as a practice-facing spokesperson for Aledade on the importance of complete and accurate diagnosis documentation and the benefits to Aledade, partner practices, their clinicians, and their patients, including message development and refinement

Minimum Qualifications:

7+ years of CDI-related experience, with experience in both an ambulatory clinical workflow setting and on a payer or value-based care companys CDI team
Risk adjustment documentation and coding expertise, including 7+ years of experience in billing and coding of clinical services in ambulatory care
5+ years of program management, project leadership and execution experience in a healthcare or product related setting
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with risk adjustment methodologies such as CMS-HCC, HHS-HCC, 3M, Milliman, etc.
Deep subject matter expertise in coding compliance
Demonstrated leadership ability in prior workplace, including managing several direct reports with teams under them +5 years
Strong Excel / Google Sheets and PPT / Google Slides skills, including strong data analysis, KPI reporting, & executive presentation skills
Bachelors degree, CPC (or equivalent)

Preferred Qualfications:
CPCO (or equivalent)
Deep subject matter expertise in billing and coding workflows
Deep subject matter expertise in CDI education, risk adjustment principles and accurate and complete diagnosis documentation and coding best practices
Strong vision and belief in moving upstream to address diagnosis documentation challenges, including leveraging technology to achieve consistent results at scale
Sophisticated physician and practice engagement skills
Strong management and mentorship capabilities, as a manager of direct reports and leader of 20+ team members
Strong project management capabilities, including demonstrated ability defining, measuring, reporting on, and achieving key metrics of success
Demonstrated success collaborating across other departments and functions to achieve common goals
Ability to contribute to both strategic decision-making as a leader within Aledades Risk Stratification function, as well as direct the operations of a large CDI team
Ability to articulate, measure, and report on diagnosis documentation and risk adjustments financial impact to Aledade ACO member practices
Ability to analyze and interpret data related to risk adjustment including payer reports, practice billing information, and technology utilization
Commitment to compliance management and risk mitigation efforts, including proven track record of effective response to potential risks and compliance with applicable regulations and contract terms
