The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Engineering Mid-Level Manager for the MQ-25 Program to lead a team of Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) software activities in Hazelwood, MO .
The team works closely with other MQ-25 teams to successfully deliver a quality product. This position in the software organization will align with Air Dominance VMS Software Team.The MQ-25 is a new unmanned aircraft system designed to provide the U.The MQ-25 will allow for better use of combat strike fighters by extending the range of deployed Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet, Boeing EA-18G Growler, and Lockheed Martin F-35C aircraft.
The VMS Software Team is responsible for the development and maintenance of flight and subsystem control software for the MQ-25.
The successful candidate will work with an existing team of real-time embedded software engineers; and hardware engineers to develop safety critical software.
VMS software integrates flight control laws, aircraft surface command, aircraft sensor signal processing and subsystem control to ensure controlled flight.
The software developed will include application layer software and low-level infrastructure software which will require close collaboration with hardware/firmware vendors.
This position will manage the full software development lifecycle; This position is designed to directly support the MQ-25 program, but will be structurally aligned to Boeing Enterprise Software organization, reporting to the Air Dominance VMS software senior manager.
Manage software engineers through the software development life-cycleDevelops and maintains relationships and partnerships with peers, business partners, customers, and other stakeholders
Takes a collaborative approach to develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and develop and maintain roadmaps
Acquires resources for projects and processes and provides oversight and approval of technical approaches in alignment with organizational strategy
Understand the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.Security clearance (Post-Start).
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
~5+ years of experience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, engineers, writers, product managers and software developers
~ Experience with Project management tools and practices as well as knowledge of project and software implementation
~ Experience working with agile teams and agile software development
Experience with Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) software development
Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE)
Experience integrating large scale software systems
Experience with formal software test
Experience with software requirement development
Experience working with external software suppliers
