The Electronics Test Engineering (ETE) designs, integrates, and deploys test solutions for the development, qualification, and production testing of avionic electronic devices.

The organization is a cross-functional team of Project Engineers, Circuit Engineers, Software Engineers, and Test Requirement Engineers.

Our team provides a shared service that supports the Program and Product teams, as well as Production facilities around the world.


Electrical engineers within ETE support the development of test solutions and related activities for various electronic product lines developed within the Electric Power Systems business unit.

Development of test solutions is directed at production testing of analog and digital PWBs, electronic controllers, power conversion and power distribution equipment used in aircraft electrical power generating systems.

We are looking to add a talented and forward-thinking Electrical Engineer to our team in Rockford, IL. Our organization provides test solutions to internal customers.

Our primary customers are the Electric Power Systems engineering organization (located in Rockford) and our two production plant sites (located in Phoenix & Puerto Rico).

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Performs conceptual and detailed electrical hardware design, analysis, documentation, procurement, and fabrication support for test solutions designed for Electric Systems products used in development, qualification, and production test environments.
  • Hardware designs that will support electrical power generation, distribution, and power electronics products used by every major airframer around the world. It is not unusual for our production test solutions to be in service for 2040 years.
  • Effective use of problemsolving skills and analytical thinking
  • Capable of communicating effectively with team members, internal & external customers
  • Data analysis/investigation in support of robustness and yield improvement activities
  • Ability to work in a crossfunctional team that includes project, circuit, software, requirement, manufacturing, and product engineers
  • Interfacing with outside suppliers to manage any instrument investigation/repair, or outsourced work
  • Coaching and technical guidance to less experienced electrical engineers supporting development of test hardware.
  • 15% travel

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:


  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience
    or **an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
    or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Master's degree
  • Hardware/software integration with a good understanding of analog, digital, and power electronics circuits design and analysis. Power electronics, or motor controls background a plus.
  • Experience H/W troubleshooting
  • Experience with schematics capture tools, preferably Cadence
  • Familiarity with PWB design methods
  • Experience using basic electronic instruments scopes, meters, etc
