Housing & Dining Services (
HDS) is the largest department on campus with 450 full-time staff and 1,700 hourly and student staff, and nearly 8,300 students live on campus.
HDS
is responsible for the management, finance, administration, and program development of all University housing facilities, including residence halls, university apartments, and Mountain Campus.

The Associate Director of University Housing is responsible for fostering an environment conducive to both personal and professional growth for students, and achieving the objectives of a successful University Housing program that connects to the academic mission of
CSU. This position oversees the day-to-day aspects of a comprehensive residential program across all residential communities.
Primary responsibilities include:

Assistant Directors, partnering with the Director of University Housing to create and lead a vision for student engagement, residential curriculum & partnerships, student behavior, student support, and diversity, equity, inclusion, & social justice.
The Associate Director of University Housing must be well-organized and able to work well under pressure with multiple and consistently changing deadlines.
To be successful in the position, the Associate Director must have excellent interpersonal communication, organization, administrative skills and demonstrated experience with taking initiative.
In addition, the Associate Director will need a strong ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with multiple constituents including campus offices, students, staff, faculty members and various other community groups.
In addition, experience working with diverse individuals such as non-traditional aged, religiously diverse, gender, international, people with disabilities, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender, and persons of color is essential to be effective in the Associate Director position.
Master's Degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education or related field
5 years of full-time experience in Student Affairs and/or Housing
Supervision of various levels of staff (i.e. paraprofessional, graduate and undergraduate students, non-student hourly)
Experience working with at least three of the following functional areas:

Serve in the absence of, or as the representative for, the Director of University Housing as needed.
Serve as a member of the University Housing Leadership Team to provide overall leadership, direction, coordination, collaboration and guidance for all University Housing programs, services, and operations.
Contribute to the University Housing vision, mission and values through participation in strategic planning, department goal setting and determining priorities.
Budget ($900,000) : Responsible for developing and managing annual budget for each University Housing functional area; uses discretion on prioritization and utilization of funds; reviews and approves all expenditures.
Provides leadership and guidance to the Assistant Directors of University Housing, related to the budgets they individually manage.Provide vision and guidance of the functional areas led by each Assistant Director of University Housing, ensuring the development of goals and objectives for each functional area.
Develop relationships with staff in various university offices, including but not limited to Cultural Resource Centers, Police Department,CSU
Health Network, Student Resolution Center, Student Case Management, Collaborative for Student Achievement, TiLT, etc. to foster connections that enhance the living and learning experiences of our residential students.
Exhibit a working knowledge and understanding of the concepts of student development, student rights and responsibilities, and University/Housing policies and procedures through both statement and example.
Participate in university, divisional and department training and development activities.Demonstrate professional commitment to diversity and social justice by involvement in teaching, research/creative activity, and service to the profession and/or cultural activities.
