The Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University seeks applications for a 12-month tenure-track Assistant, Associate, Full Professor in Surgical Oncology. This position will be housed in the Department of Clinical Sciences located on the Veterinary Health Campus of Colorado State University. The integrated oncology service at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital offers the latest and most advanced diagnostics and treatments in surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and clinical trials to a bustling client and referral base. This position will support clinical and didactic teaching in the DVM program, fellow training and mentorship in surgical oncology, graduate student/resident training, and research in the areas of veterinary and translational oncology. This faculty position will partner with other surgical oncology faculty members to provide full time (52 week) clinical service in surgical oncology. The Department recognizes that there is a need for an additional faculty to sustain clinical excellence and teaching programs, and for development of new knowledge so has created the currently advertised position. DVM or equivalent veterinary professional degree

Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons or equivalent

ACVS Founding Fellow or Fellow in Surgical Oncology or completion of a fellowship training program in surgical oncology preferred, though consideration extended to candidates having surgical oncology experience and or interest in completing surgical oncology fellowship training during employment.

Associate Professor Tenure track
The approximate commitment to clinical responsibilities will range from 18 22 weeks.

DVM or equivalent veterinary professional degree

Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons or equivalent

ACVS Founding Fellow or Fellow in Surgical Oncology or completion of a fellowship training program in surgical oncology preferred, though consideration extended to candidates having surgical oncology experience and or interest in completing surgical oncology fellowship training during employment.

Evidence of maintaining an independent or collaborative research program.

5 years of experience at the Assistant Professor rank or equivalent

Full Professor Tenure track

Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons or equivalent

ACVS Founding Fellow or Fellow in Surgical Oncology or completion of a fellowship training program in surgical oncology

5 years of experience at the Associate Professor rank or equivalent

Evidence of maintaining an independent and collaborative research program

Preferred Job Qualifications Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Tenure track

Experience in instruction of DVM students

Experience with mentorship of clinical fellows and other specialists in training

Evidence of dedication to the advancement of the field of surgical oncology

At Assistant and Associate /Professor rank, fellowship training in surgical oncology is preferred. For candidates without this training, training will be provided with an expectation that the candidate will become an ACVS Fellow in Surgical Oncology

MS or PhD and/or evidence of success in developing and or maintaining an independent research program
